Thyme Passion Fruit Green Tea

A passionate twist to Sunday tea
This week the market is filled with abundance of passion fruit! Mum is visiting this weekend so I've decided to make a special tea for her using her favourite fruit :)

  • ½ tsp thyme
  • 2 passion fruit
  • 1 tsb honey
  • 1 tsb of loose green tea leaves (or 2 packets of tea dust)
Makes a pot (or 500ml), depending on the size of the pot :)

  1. Pick 2 crinkled-skin passion fruit (taste sweeter!) and scoop out the seeds
  2. Soak the seeds with honey and stir in 500 ml of boiling water
  3. Pack loose green tea leaves and thyme in a disposable tea bag
  4. Let sit for 10 minutes in hot water mixture
  5. Serve while it's freshly steamed or let it cool before adding ice to enjoy the tea chilled

A delicate looking herb with a penetrating fragrance, thyme has the ability to relax bronchial spasms makes it effective for coughs, bronchitis, emphysema and asthma. Drinking tea brewed with thyme also helps with menstrual cramp
